Bohol IATF: Do not share old news, fake info

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, April 30 (PIA) -- The Bohol Inter Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) is calling on the public to refrain from sharing news articles from the previous year related to community quarantine status.

This after a message about Bohol being put under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) on May 4 has circulated online.

However, the said article was from last year.

"This message has been circulating that Bohol will be put under GCQ starting May 4 - this is not true," said BIATF secretariat lead Reyna Deloso.

The said post that made its rounds on social media platforms referred to Executive Order No. 28 which talked about Bohol being placed under GCQ starting May 4.

"Please refrain from sharing as this was an executive order issued last year," Deloso appealed to the public.

Bohol records 13 COVID-19 deaths

in April; local transmission cases up

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, April 30 (PIA) -- From a total of 27 casualties of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) from March 2020 to the end of March 2021, the number has now risen to 40 as the March alone posted 13 new deaths.

On April 2, 2020, when Bohol recorded its 28th victim of COVID-19, there were only 156 active cases, of which 114 were of local transmission.

By then, local transmission was pegged at 73.07 percent.

By April 30, Bohol’s active COVID-19 cases are at 825, of which 753 or 91.27 percent are by local transmission.

Two days in April stand out as the most gruesome: April 16 and April 28.

On April 16, at 7:00 a.m., Bohol recorded its 32nd COVID-19 casualty.

Reports from the Bohol Inter-Agency Task Force also showed 341 active cases of COVID-19 and 309 of them by local transmission.

That morning, local transmission rate was at 90.61 percent.

By 10:00 a.m., or after the IATF has consolidated all reports, it was found out that another death was recorded, when active cases were 339 and 336 were from local transmission.

The local transmission rate for that day’s cases soared to 99.11 percent.

On the other hand, on April 28, 2021, the 37th casualty was noted in the 1:00 p.m. BIATF report.

That same day, Bohol had 727 active cases of which 724 are of local transmission.

Local transmission rate for the day was at 99.58 percent.

At the end of the day, April 28 recorded four COVID-19 deaths: one Talibon resident, two Tagbilaran residents, and one Baclayon resident.

Authorities from the local government units came up with different measures to contain the local transmission and flatten the curve as Bohol enters its second wave of COVID-19 affectations.

Localized and granular lockdowns are in place in Lila, while Tubigon has banned chapel activities that usher in the annual fiesta.

Tagbilaran City has strictly imposed the screening of people who will enter the city on May 1.

Meanwhile, Bohol Provincial Government has reported over 50 COVID-19 cases involving its employees at the new Capitol building.

The governor has ordered massive disinfection operations in the Capitol, and ordered the provincial government building closed by April 29 and 30.

The same day also recorded 42 business process outsourcing employees being infected with COVID-19. (rahc/PIA-7/Bohol)
