Struggle to keep barangays
drug free, meets challenge
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol August 18 (PIA)—The struggle to keep the 321 drug-freed barangays maintain the clean slate has never been as real as now, when the pressure to prove these villages have totally shunned off the social menace.
As the Philippine National Police (PNP) casts its Simultaneous Enhanced Managing of Police Operations (SEMPO) a day after the Regional Oversight Committee evaluating the current efforts of barangay anti-drug abuse councils awarded citations for drug cleared barangays, enforcement authorities nabbed 37 drug personalities and killed two more in the reloaded version of police one Time Big Time.
At least, a drug personality nabbed anywhere but traced to a drug-cleared barangay could invalidate the recent award.
Dangerous Drugs Board Chairman Catalino Cuy, in his message during the Awarding and Recognition of the 321 barangays also reminded the BLGUs to maintain the status by remaining drug free, and keep up with the standards and expectations of the awards.
