Tagbilaran City wins 2020 Most Business Friendly City
TAGBILARAN CITY, October 9 (PIA)--Another feather was added to this city's cap as it earned recognition for being the Most Business Friendly City in 2020 in the country from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), under Category 3.
From the 8 finalists all over the Philippines, Tagbilaran City was proclaimed the winner due to its swift and active response in the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
In his Facebook post, Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell ‘Baba’ Yap II attributed the latest achievement received by the city to the strengthened health protocols aimed to increase consumer confidence; the rapid impact assessment done by Michael Cañares; the response and recovery plan which was assisted by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) SURGE Project headed by Linda Paredes; the relevant ordinances passed by the 14th Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) headed by Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso; and their empowered partnership with the business/private sector and the efforts of the department heads and employees.
According to Yap, these collaborative efforts and their engagement with the business community thru the Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) have made this achievement possible.
The mayor thanked the entire workforce of the City Government of Tagbilaran, our Almighty God for His constant guidance and protection and the Tagbilaranons for their trust and support.
The award was given by the PCCI during the 46th Philippine Business Virtual Conference on October 7-8 with Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon M. Lopez serving as one of the presenters.
