Tagbilaran City to provide free
COVID-19 vaccines for residents
TAGBILARAN CITY, Jan. 6 (PIA) -- The Tagbilaran City Government will provide free coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines for all its residents.
In his Facebook post on Jan. 5, 2021, Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap II said the budget for COVID-19 vaccines was included in this year’s budget.
However, the mayor did not mention how much the city government will earmark from its savings for the COVID-19 vaccination program.
“Na apil sa City Government of Tagbilaran ang budget para sa Covid Vaccine karong 2021. Kani e hatag nga LIBRE. Unahon nato ang mga SENIOR CITIZENS sa Tagbilaran City (The City Government has included [the vaccine] in its budget for 2021. We can give this for free. But we have to prioritize the senior ciizens of Tagbilaran City)," Yap said in his Facebook post.
The elderly and vulnerable would be the priority group.
Yap said senior citizens who would like to avail of the vaccine should pre-register.
He urged senior citizens in the city to pre-register by texting their names, senior citizen ID number, and address to the contact person with numbers provided per barangay in the city where they belong.
“Mag pre-register ta og una sa willing magpa bakuna nga senior citizen. Palihug e text ang inyong ngalan, Senior Citizen ID number, og address, sa mga numbers nga naa sa picture og asa nga barangay na belong (We will start registering the senior citizens who are willing to get the vaccine. Please text your name, senior citizen ID number, and address to the numbers indicated in the posters as to the barangays where you reside)," the mayor urged. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
