AstraZeneca vaccines arrive in Bohol

TAGBILARAN CITY, March 15 (PIA) -- The province of Bohol on March 14 received 5,140 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines, boosting its plan to stop the COVID-19 pandemic that has infected over 1,000 Boholanos.

On his Facebook post on Sunday, Gov. Arthur Yap also announced that Bohol received 1,340 doses of Sinovac from the Department of Health (DOH) in Central Visayas.

“Ang tanang hospital (government ug private) sa Bohol ang mga benepisaryo niini. Mapasalamaton ta sa DOH sa paghatag ug libreng bakuna para sa atong medical frontliners sa lalawigang Bol-anon. Kasamtangan nga gi-store ang mga bakuna sa PHO Cold Chain Facility ug ato kining ipang-apod apod sa mga tambalanan sulod sa tulo ka adlaw," Yap said.

On March 6, Bohol started the rollout of its COVID-19 inoculation with Sinovac at the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) in Tagbilaran City.

There were 2,860 vials that arrived in Bohol.

The governor called on the Boholanos to continue following the minimum health standards as the province awaits the arrival of more vaccine allocation from the DOH.

“Ang padayong pag-abot sa mga bakuna nagpasabot nga nagpadayon ang atong rollout sa pagpamakuna pinaagi sa DOH. Apan, sa gihapon, dili ta angay mokumpyansa samtang magpaabot ta sa dugang alokasyon sa bakuna alang sa katawhang Bol-anon. Atong awhag sa tanan, sundon gihapon nato ang minimum health standards kanunay (The arrival of vaccines here show that our vaccination rollout shall continue with the help of DOH. But even then, we should not let our guards down while we wait for more vaccines allocation for Boholanos. I call on everyone to continue following the minimum health standards)," Yap said.

Some 43,678 frontliners in Bohol have been included in the province’s priority list for its mass vaccination against COVID-19 with the lion’s share of the jab allocation going to over 32,000 barangay health workers, based on the list submitted by the Bohol Inter-Agency Task Force to the national health authorities. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
