Bohol Capitol, Tagbilaran City 
Hall closed for disinfection

TAGBILARAN CITY, April 23 (PIA) -- The Bohol Provincial Capitol and the Tagbilaran City Hall is closed on April 23, 2021 for disinfection as part of efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as some employees of both government buildings tested positive for the virus.

Regular operations of both government offices will resume on April 26, 2021.

In an online press conference on Friday morning, Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) Spokesman Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez reported that a total of 29 employees of the Provincial Capitol tested positive for COVID-19.

The COVID-stricken Capitol employees included 14 from the Provincial General Services Office (PGSO) and 15 from the Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO).

These employees were subjected to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for confirmation and all of them are now PCR positive and have been isolated, Lopez said.

In an advisory issued Friday morning through its official social media account, the provincial government reported that the active cases have already reached 570 including 52 new cases.

As of April 23, Bohol recorded a total of 2,275 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,669 recoveries and 36 deaths.

The Bohol provincial government has reiterated its appeal to the public to strictly follow health protocols as cases in the province continue to surge. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
