Renovated church at 
Loon, give it to the Diocese

CORTES, Bohol, Sept 7 (PIA) - Head of National Museum (NM) Director Jeremy Barns and the witness of Bishop Albert Uy and priests in Bohol to give up the renovated church in the Virgin Parish in Kasilak, and the This is the commentary, September 7, at 4:30 pm, eve of his feast.

The built church will be surrendered after eight years from its devastation on October 13, 2013, when the earthquake that hit Bohol blown the said most handsome church built by priests in August in 1855 years after the parish of the Heswites was founded in 1753.

Also known as the Loon Church, the Kasilak church is known for progressive architecture but is not abandoned by its overall design Baroque-Rococo.

The renowned church, according to history, is now its third construction, after a huge fire in the 1850's, licked inside the church, just outside its front side.

Still, the church's design in 1855 was made by Sunday Escondrillas, until it was crushed by earthquake.
Church appointed in the National Historical Landmark at the National Historical Commission of the philippines and National Cultural Treasure at the National Museum.

In this great opportunity and celebration, Dir Barns handed over to Bishop Albert Uy the certificates of surrender to the new church, including the National Cultural Treasure marker of NM and the National Historical Landmark of the National Historic Commission of the Philippines.

The church will also conduct rededication and pontifical mass attendance of priests, visitors and select people of Loon, with the restraint of large gatherings due to the pandemic.
