COVID-19 deaths in Bohol down by 29%

TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL, Oct. 18 (PIA) -- Deaths caused by COVID-19 in Bohol decreased by 29% in a month, according to data from Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

From the BIATF Bohol Daily COVID-19 tracker, deaths by COVID-19 from Sept. 14 to Sept. 27 reached 80.

This translates to 5.7 deaths per day on the 14 days.

The following week, Sept. 28 to Oct. 12, the viral disease casualty ebbed to 57, a reduction by 29%.

The following week’s daily death average dipped to 4.07 in the last two weeks.

The month-long all-time high number of deaths was recorded on Sept. 21 with 12 recorded deaths, while the all-time low was when Bohol recorded zero deaths on Sept. 22, the following day.

The reduced number of deaths in the last two weeks largely contributed to the decrease in average deaths per day: from over six last month to 4.8 this month.

The week from Sept. 1 to 15, there was a notable increase of 2,343 in cumulative cases, while on Oct. 1 to 15, the cumulative increase in cases was only as much as 887.

On the recorded active cases, from 1,858 on Sept. 1, the cases continued to climb to 2,064 by the 15th.

By Oct. 1, the active cases were 1,651 while by the 15th, it dropped to 680 in a day. (RAHC/PIA7 Bohol)
Having seen the effects of the vaccine, Boholanos are now slowly coming out and getting vaccinated as soon as they are available. Bohol is still dependent on the vaccine delivery to fasttrack its vaccination program. (PIA Bohol)
