PIA-7 to Bohol IOs:
Be responsible, proactive in disseminating info

TAGBILARAN CITY, July 21(PIA)--Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Central Visayas Regional Head Fayette Riñen reminded the public information officers (PIOs) of the national government agencies and local government units in Bohol to be responsible and proactive in disseminating information that really matters.

“It is high time we do our share and swamp the digital spaces with relevant information. Let’s be proactive in disseminating information that really matters, which is information for change and development,” said Riñen.

The PIA-7 chief sought the support of the PIOs during the Association of United Development Information Officers (AUDIO) General Assembly on July 20 held at the Bohol Public School Teachers and Employees Association (BPSTEA) Function Hall.

AUDIO-Bohol has been the partner of PIA in its mandate to deliver timely, relevant, and accurate information about the government's programs, projects and services.

Riñen emphasized the critical role of PIOs in disseminating information down to the grassroots level.

She also introduced to the AUDIO members the "Maayong Balita sa Central Visayas," a weekly online program produced by PIA7 that airs every Saturday featuring the good news from the four provinces of the region.

Earlier that day, the PIA7 team, together with the PIA Bohol Infocen staff and members of AUDIO-Bohol paid a courtesy visit to Bohol Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado.

The governor assured Riñen of his full support to PIA’s information dissemination initiatives.

Aumentado also agreed to provide an office space for free to the PIA Bohol Infocen.

AUDIO-Bohol, during the courtesy visit, submitted to the governor the AUDIO-Bohol Resolution No. 01 Series of 2022, a resolution ardently requesting the governor, through the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, to accommodate the provincial office of PIA Bohol at the Old or New Provincial Capitol Building or any building owned by the provincial government of Bohol.

PIA is administering the AUDIO-Bohol, a duly registered aggrupation with the Securities and Exchange Commission. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
