TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, August 25 (PIA)--Job vacancies and free enrollment to Technical Vocational courses have been offered at the World Café of Opportunities during the “National Tech-Voc Day” on August 25 at the Bohol Cultural Center in Tagbilaran City.
A total of 577 job seekers have registered for the hiring of local and international companies through the Technical Education and Skills Training Authority (TESDA) in partnership with the Provincial Government of Bohol through the Bohol Employment and Placement Office (BEPO) and Public Employment Service Office (PESO) managers from the different municipalities of Bohol.
The jobs fair, which gathered some 13 companies for local employment and six overseas placement agencies, was able to hire 7 applicants on-the-spot from the 577 employment seekers during the event.
The hiring companies for overseas are Crossworld Marine Services, ERRX Recruitment Consulting, J-M-H International Manpower Agency Co., JRT-Magica International Placement, Lead Resources Management, and Less United International Corp. While the local companies hiring include Alturas Supermarket Corporation, Amorita Resort, Atharra Residences Inc., Bohol Beach Club, Bohol Quality Corp., DES Strong Motors, Inc., Du Ek Sam, Inc., Fortune Agrivet Distribution Group Inc., Hennan Resort, Ibex Global Solutions Philippines Inc., Nuat Thai Services Inc., Petrobest Bohol Corporation, and Task Us Bohol.
TESDA Provincial Director Winefredo B. Salas said the activity is in celebration of the agency’s 28th founding anniversary and August 25 being declared as National Tech-Voc Day under Republic Act 10970.
“The success of this activity is not for the good of TESDA and other government agencies but for the benefit of our fellow Boholanos who are seeking and finding jobs for greener future ahead and we are hoping that many of our job seekers today will be hired on the spot,” Salas said.
The primary objective of the world café is to link TVET graduates to available jobs and to give them scholarship if they want to enhance or upgrade their skills.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), and Home Development and Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG) also joined the activity to provide frontline services to the attendees.
The event was also in partnership with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Philippine Information Agency (PIA) (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
