‘Odette’-hit Boholanos to receive
additional P5K – PA Caberte
TAGBILARAN CITY, August 19 (PIA)--The provincial government of Bohol on Friday announced that additional cash assistance will be given to the victims of typhoon Odette whose households were totally damaged during the onslaught of Odette.
This was announced by Provincial Administrator Aster Caberte during the Capitol Reports, a weekly program institutionalized recently under Gov Erico Aristotle Aumentado.
Caberte said the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) committed that the National Housing Authority (NHA) will give additional P5,000 to complete the P10,000 cash assistance for the totally damaged households who were devastated by typhoon Odette.
The Provincial Administrator clarified that the amount to be received is P5,000 only as additional to the initial P5,000 given by DSWD.
Caberte also clarified that this will be distributed as soon as the second tranche is downloaded by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
The province was seriously devastated by super typhoon Odette on December 16, 2021. It brought destruction to homes, properties, and livelihoods at a time when people were already facing the societal and developmental impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
