New Tagbilaran one-stop shop streamlines
services for residents, investors

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA) — In alignment with the call of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to streamline government services, the City Government of Tagbilaran officially opened its Business and Building One-Stop Shop Center on October 16.

Located inside the City Hall Compound, the center was funded through the Local Government Support Fund of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The newly inaugurated facility consolidates key offices involved in business and building permit applications — including the Office of the Building Official, Business Permit and Licensing Office, City Zoning Office, City Treasurer’s Office, City Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office, and the Bureau of Fire Protection — all under one roof for faster and more efficient service delivery.

“This new facility symbolizes progress, innovation, and good governance — making business and building transactions faster, easier, and more transparent,” said Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap, who led the inauguration together with First District Rep. John Geesnell Yap II, Vice Mayor Adam Jala, and other city officials.

Tagbilaran has received national recognition from the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), and World Class Philippines, underscoring its reputation as one of the most business-friendly and progressive cities in the country.
Efforts to improve ease of doing business

Beyond the new one-stop shop, the city government continues to expand initiatives that make doing business easier for residents and investors.

Tagbilaran has developed its e-BOSS platform, which allows online applications and renewals of business permits, and has extended office hours during the annual Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) period to accommodate more applicants.

Other efforts include integrating online systems among departments and holding regular forums with local entrepreneurs to gather feedback and improve city services. (ECB/PIA7-Bohol)
