Sandugo Festival Fusion Nights kicks off

TAGBILARAN CITY, July 22 (PIA)--The Sandugo Festival Fusion Nights 2022 kicked off on Friday, July 22, at the Sandugo Festival Grounds, Tagbilaran City Old Airport.

The Fusion Nights, now on it's 7th year, aims to bring people to a hub where they can taste the best offerings of hotels, resorts and restaurants in Bohol without having to spend much.

Aside from the ongoing food fair, the Fusion Nights is a special 10-night feature with line-up of events and surprises for the annual Sandugo festivities including a variety of nightly entertainment such as local musical bands, cultural presentations and other events from July 22 until 31.

This year’s participating concessionaires are Kew Hotel, Modala Beach Resort, Ocean Suites Boutique Hotel, Astoria Bohol, Panda Tea Garden Suites, Pepperoni’s Pizza, Celene’s Racket Food, Coco Craze, House of Lechon, Jzaki Enterprises, MCSA Corner Restaurant, Pearl Teepee, ROJO Panglao, Sweetniest88, Wing It! and Balamban Liempo.

This event is hosted by the Provincial Government of Bohol through the Bohol Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (BEDIPO), in partnership with the Bohol Association of Hotels, Resorts and Restaurants and the Isang Dugo Foundation.

The annual culinary feature event was launched in July 2014 as the International Fusion Nights- a product of a challenge to make the Sandugo Festival more exciting and attract greater attention after the province was struck by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake back in 2013. This showcased the resiliency of the Boholanos and our commitment to rapidly recover and build back Bohol better as a tourism and investment destination.

This year is being made special with the comeback of the month- long Sandugo festivities after two years of cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

National artists such as the rock band ‘Sponge Cola’ that produced the songs ‘Jeepney’, ‘Bitiw’, and ‘Tuliro’ among others on July 29 and the “Queen of Hugot” Moira Dela Torre on July 31, are the main features of the Sandugo Music Festival and during the Culmination Night. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)

PIA-7 to Bohol IOs:
Be responsible, proactive in disseminating info

TAGBILARAN CITY, July 21(PIA)--Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Central Visayas Regional Head Fayette Riñen reminded the public information officers (PIOs) of the national government agencies and local government units in Bohol to be responsible and proactive in disseminating information that really matters.

“It is high time we do our share and swamp the digital spaces with relevant information. Let’s be proactive in disseminating information that really matters, which is information for change and development,” said Riñen.

The PIA-7 chief sought the support of the PIOs during the Association of United Development Information Officers (AUDIO) General Assembly on July 20 held at the Bohol Public School Teachers and Employees Association (BPSTEA) Function Hall.

AUDIO-Bohol has been the partner of PIA in its mandate to deliver timely, relevant, and accurate information about the government's programs, projects and services.

Riñen emphasized the critical role of PIOs in disseminating information down to the grassroots level.

She also introduced to the AUDIO members the "Maayong Balita sa Central Visayas," a weekly online program produced by PIA7 that airs every Saturday featuring the good news from the four provinces of the region.

Earlier that day, the PIA7 team, together with the PIA Bohol Infocen staff and members of AUDIO-Bohol paid a courtesy visit to Bohol Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado.

The governor assured Riñen of his full support to PIA’s information dissemination initiatives.

Aumentado also agreed to provide an office space for free to the PIA Bohol Infocen.

AUDIO-Bohol, during the courtesy visit, submitted to the governor the AUDIO-Bohol Resolution No. 01 Series of 2022, a resolution ardently requesting the governor, through the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, to accommodate the provincial office of PIA Bohol at the Old or New Provincial Capitol Building or any building owned by the provincial government of Bohol.

PIA is administering the AUDIO-Bohol, a duly registered aggrupation with the Securities and Exchange Commission. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
