Bohol hosts 3rd CV Coop Congress

TAGBILARAN CITY, Oct. 4 (PIA)--The Province of Bohol will host the 3rd Central Visayas Cooperative Congress on October 5-7, 2017 at the Bohol Tropics Resort, this city.

Bearing the theme, “In Cooperativism, All Are Included, No One Should Be Left Behind”; cooperatives and government agencies in the region, as well as officials from Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), Regional Cooperative Development Council (RCDC) and national government agencies are expected to participate in the affair.

As an opening salvo of the three-day congress, a press conference is set tomorrow, October 5 at 11:00 in the morning at the Flamingo Conference of the Bohol Tropics. 

CDA Chairman Orlando Ravanera, RCDC-7 Chairperson Betta Socorro Solera and Provincial Cooperative Development Council (PCDC) Officer, Atty. Benjie Arcamo will be present during the press conference.

While guest speakers during the congress are Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr., and Sen. Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV. 

October of every year is a celebration of Cooperative Month in the Philippines pursuant to Presidential Proclamation 493, series of 2003. 

The 2017 Cooperative Month has a theme “Cooperatives: Empowering the Poor and the Vulnerable Towards Job Creation and Poverty Eradication”. 

In order to raise consciousness, all the cooperatives are encouraged to launch activities that commemorate the importance of the Cooperative Month. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
