Bohol MSMEs join live stream forum on
mentoring, digi-tools to empower SMEs

TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL, July 2 (PIA)--Over 20 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) joined an online learning event, June 27 aimed at providing wider access to government information to entrepreneurs.

The event streamed live, was entitled Empowering Philippines SMEs with Digital Tools and Mentorship Opportunities, from an event held at the Philippine Trade and Training Center (PTTC) in Manila.

The event and live stream aim to enhance capabilities of MSMEs using digital systems and facilities that can be utilized according to their needs, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bohol information officer Vierna Teresa Ligan said.

Among the presenters of the event are United States Ambassador to the Philippines Ambassador Sung Kim, President of Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), Alegria S. Limjoco, and DTI Secretary Ramon M. Lopez.

The DTI provided a live streaming platform for the MSMEs in all of its offices to join the said event without traveling physically to the venue, Ligan said.

In Bohol, two live stream venues opened, the DTI Provincial Office and Negosyo Center Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) to deliver a wider access of viewership.

Aside from the speeches from the keynote speakers, MSMEs were also able to view and absorb the information discussed by mentors from panel discussions to workshops as well as clinic sessions.

Among the topics discussed were the digitalization and improving Filipino MSMEs’ reach to global market, effective marketing content making and improving enterprises’ access to finance.

This should enable the Boholano businessmen to learn the current challenges and opportunities the industry is facing in the digital age at the same time as the participants in the Capital, DTI Bohol said. (KACalumba/DTI Bohol)
