re-impose mandatory wearing of face shield
TAGBILARAN CITY, April 19 (PIA) -- The Provincial Capitol and Tagbilaran City Hall have re-imposed the mandatory wearing of face shields by all persons entering both government buildings starting today, April 19, 2021, amid the surging number of COVID-19 cases across the province.
The shields will be worn on top of the face masks.
In Tagbilaran City, residents are required to wear face mask and shield when entering the city hall, government offices, and public markets in the city.
Those who will violate it will face a fine of P3,000 to P5,000 or imprisonment of up to six months as stipulated in Ordinance C-305.
Both government offices imposed the wearing of face shields last year for all its visitors and employees.
As of April 19, 2021, the province recorded 2,002 COVID-19 cases with 446 active cases, 1,556 recoveries, and 34 deaths based on data from the Bohol Inter-Agency Task Force (BIATF).
More than half of these were recorded in Tagbilaran City with 235 cases.
Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Chief Anthony Damalerio said the directive is a precautionary measure in view of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the city. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
