SSS issues revised pay
schedules for Jan-June
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, May 17 (PIA)--Did you miss paying the first quarter contributions?
If you happen to be a self-employed (SE) voluntary (VM) or non-working spouse (NWS), then you may still be able to plug the hole in your premiums for continued benefits.
The Social Security System (SSS) has issued an office order which revised the consolidated deadline of payments of contribution for January to June 2019.
Through SSS Office Order 2019-012-b, contributions for the applicable months for SE, VM and NWS can still be paid until July 31, 2019.
As to the order, any payment by SE, VM or NWS can be done on a monthly, quarterly, semi annual basis.
Released last April 15, 2019 by SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Aurora Ignacio, the order also moved the deadline of payments of contribution by regular members employers is now at the end of the month immediately following the applicable month.
As such, payments for April 2019 for example can still be paid on May 31, 2019.
Moreover, for household employers, the office order now allows them to pay for their employees at the end of the month immediately following the applicable month, or quarter for those opting for quarterly payments.
Additionally, household employers can be allowed to pay or remit their contributions in advance, or for at most, one year of the applicable period year.
Over this, in the case of that the revised payment deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday or a holiday, according to the SSS, payment may be made on the next working day.
In this case, failure to pay despite the revised revised payment deadline, would be dealt with penalties for delayed remittance.
For SE, VM and NWS, penalties for their late contribution payments would be applied prospectively, the SSS order stated. (rahc)
