JA Clarin St. one way traffic
Scheme begins this Monday

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, September 6 (PIA)—Beginning Monday, September 9, 2019, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) closes the half lane of J. A. Clarin Street from Total Gasoline Station to Darunday Machine Shop due to a concreting project.

According to DPWH District Engineer Francis Antonio Flores, the national road section 1-Kilometer 001+338 to K001+900, or a net length of 562 meters would be paved with concrete, and thus, upon consultation with public utility providers, a one-way traffic would be implemented.

As to the DPWH, the activities to be implemented include the removal of actual structures and traffic obstruction, the putting up of .05 meters of unreinforced asphalt concrete pavement, 0.28 meters thick 3 days and reinforced thermoplastic pavement markings.

Engr Flores, in a notice and request for public service announcement, said the project is funded under the regular infrastructure of the General Appropriations Act for calendar year 2019.

With this, during the project duration, a one-way traffic would be implemented for vehicles from old Capitol area going to Tagbilaran City Hall and Island City Mall.

The temporary one-way traffic scheme is then set from the Camp Francisco Dagohoy (Barracks) to corner McDonalds from Monday until the project is completed, the DPWH Infrastructure Dissemination Program informed the public.

For this, the lane going towards downtown Tagbilaran City would be rerouted to parallel roads like Bernardino Inting Street and Mansasa-Dampas Road to avoid vehicular accidents while the rehabilitation works is still in progress, the DPWH suggested.

With the development, Holy Name University would have to open up a temporary entrance, which could possibly be the Barder Gym access near Island City Hall and the Janseen Heights entrance.

The DPWH has also requested all those who may be affected by the reroutes and the temporary closure to bear with the temporary inconvenience. (rahc/PIA-7/Bohol)
