Graduates in Dressmaking and Tailoring NC II said while they are thankful to the government for their skills training, their next challenge is practicing their entrepreneurial skills.

The graduates then returned to their houses with the skills, but without the necessary equipment of funding capital, their newfound skills remain underutilized.

But, with Tesda Circular 26 issued April 2018, in the addendum to the implementing guidelines on the utilization of funds under the Sariling Sikap Program, the graduates found out that there is still something they would need to be further use their skills.

On this, Tesda Provincial Skills Training Center (PSTC) in Tubigon welcomed their graduates who already got national certifications, to practice for a cause.

Now back after completing training but with the same goal to enhance their skills for gainful employment, graduates from all walks of life and ages, academic attainments and attitudes, gather to possess the same goal to learn a livelihood program from Tesda, according to PSTC Tubigon’s Joahnna Zabate Mangyao.

Dressmaking and Tailoring NC II training area is still a learning ground for certified graduates to generate future income projects as an entry for Income Generating Program (IGP) under TESDA Circular No. 26, series of 2018.

The thing is, there is still this need to perfect their skills and attain personal marketable production confidence, and then there is the issue of using the right equipment, mentors and technologies, that going back to practice is a laudable step, says Mangyao.

Besides, the graduates already belong to the Tesda PTC Alumni graduates and they have annual reunions, anything they can craft from these return practices get to be saved for the costs of these gatherings, she added.
