Over nabbed drug pusher husband

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Nov 11 (PIA)—Newly assumed Bohol Police Provincial Director Police Colonel Arnel Banzon has directed the Provincial Investigation and Detection Unit to conduct an investigation on concerned police officer, and determine why the suspect’s wife who is a police officer apparently did not know that her husband was into drugs.

Col Banzon has also relieved the female police officer from Loay Municipal Police Station and had her reassigned at the Bohol Provincial Police Office, Provincial Personnel Holding and Accounting Office, pending investigation.

Rest assured that BPPO will take all necessary actions and will ensure that the police officer will be held liable if evidence warrants, according to Colonel Banzon.

It may be recalled that after a series of surveillance activities, a joint team collaborated to finally pick on the suspect for his illegal activities, November 8, 2024.

In a buy bust operation, authorities collared the suspect, a 40 year-old unemployed resident of Bonbon Loay, who has been a regional person of interest involved in drugs.

The suspect, a high school level individual, was also nabbed in 2016, for the same offense.

Joint operating units led by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA BOHOL), with PNP Bohol Maritime Police (PNP), Provincial Intelligence Unit and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PNP)-and personnel of the Tagbilaran City Police Station nabbed the suspect in P-8, Brgy. Bool, Tagbilaran City.

Confiscated when the police swooped upon the suspect were 1 piece medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu weighing more or less 5 grams with street value of Php15,000.00, which was the subject of the sale, 4 pieces medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu weighing MOL 20 grams with standard drug price Php136,000.00 (possession)

Also confiscated were 1 pc genuine one-thousand peso bill with serial number EM670969 placed on top of fourteen 14 pieces fake one-thousand peso bill buy-bust money, unit cellular phone and 11 piece cigarette pack used as container of the illegal substance

The suspect is in police custody and would be facing violation of Sections 5 and 11 Art. II of RA 9165. (PIABOhol)
