Lead most improved LGUS
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Nov 23 (PIA)—From its 206th rank in the 2023 Cities and Municipalities Index, (CMCI) Sevilla, Bohol rose to 109, stepping over 97 points to lead the most improved in competitiveness status for fifth to sixth class towns.
This placed the sleepy Bohol town in the 9th place among the country’s 316 5th to 6th class local government units.
And then, jumping from 215th rank in the 2023 CMCI, Sikatuna town landed now in the 132nd spot jumping over 83 points to score Bohol’s second most improved 5th-6th class towns in starting business.
This sweet achievement earned Sikatuna the 15th rank among the country’s most improved in the same category.
In third in the same class of most improved LGUS, Clarin settled in number 63 rank in 2024 from the 136th rank last year in a leap that took them 73 points up.
This feat placed Clarin 23rd among the country’s 5th-6th class towns carving the most improved status.
In fourth among most improved LGUS in Bohol, Cortes town scored a jump of 53 positive points from 151st rank in the 2023 CMCI to 98th now, earning the town the 32dn place in the country’s fledging LGUS needing to generate as much business capital to spur economic growth.
In fifth among Bohol’s most improved is the town of Loay, which skipped past 42 points to settle in the 40th rank among the country’s 5th-6th class towns.
From 109th, Loay achieved the 67th rank in last month’s ease of doing business index rankings.
Sixth Bohol towns conferred the most improved status is Lila, now at 54th from 95th rank in 2023 to 74th rank in 2024 CMCI, galloping over 21 points.
And then, there is Dagohoy, which used to be at 259th in 2023, it now sits in 240th earning it the 56th among the country’s most improved LGUS.
For the 3rd to 4th class towns, awardees in the top 3 are President Carlos P Garcia which settled in the country’s number 10th rank.
Pres CPG jumped 321 notches from its 549th standing in 2023 to the 228th among 660 competitors.
Now at the 36th rank among the rest in the country’s 3rd to 4th class towns, Trinidad showed grit when from 434th rank in 2024, it clambered to 242nd accounting for its barging now into most improved towns.
Garcia Hernandez also does not want to be left out and at 36th rank nationwide sharing the podium with Trinidad, the limestone mining town churned out 192 extra score for their 563rd rank to 371st in his year’s CMCI.
At 37th this year is Getafe, Bohol, which scored a 190 points jump from 413 to 223 rank in 2024.
At 45th rank now, San Miguel worked out a magic jumping past 172 points from its 345th rank in 2023 to 173rd now.
Dauis town, now at 46th is also among Bohol’s most improved status, clearing 171 points from 381st rank in 2023 to 210 this year.
Loboc, on the other hand, now sits at the 51st post among the country’s 660 3rd to 4th class towns in this year’s most improved. Loboc jumped over 162 points from its 422 spot in 2023 to 260.
Baclayon, now at 56th scored 147 neat points to stave off its 314th rank last year at 614th.
Valencia, on the other hand shares the honor with a 138 scored improvement from 306th to 168th now.
Meanwhile, Guindulman, scored sweet 117 points up over its 631st rank kas year to a 514th rank now.
In Bohol’s 1st to 2nd class towns, Talibon’s 2023 CMCI rank of 336th is now up to 178th for an impressive 158 points leap.
Ubay, which is now on 93rd spot cleared 28 improvement points to improve its 203rd spot in last year to 175th now.
Carmen, now at 98th had its 2023 rating at 460 and improved it to 438th this year with 22 positive points in competitiveness.
For the component Cities category, Tagbilaran City still bettered its accomplishment from a 1oth rank in 2023 to 4th in 2024 CMCU that it earned 6 plus points. (PIABohol)
