SSS mulls on opening 2
service offices in Bohol
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, (PIA)—At the current bulk of clients streaming to the Bohol Field Office of the Social Security System (SSS) despite it’s online transactions policy, anytime soon, two more service offices would be set up here, reveals SSS Senior Communications Analyst Sherwin Dan Solibaga II, during the recent Kapihan sa PIA.
SSS contemplates on adding two more service offices, and are considering Trinidad, Panglao and Jagna, says Solibaga.
Currently served by Tagbilaran and Talibon service offices, SSS clients still seem to clog at the service offices for their transactions, despite migrating its services to online service platforms, added Hazel Navarro, Bohol SSS information Officer at the PIA-produced radio program streamed online and on delayed cast at DyTR AM.
But with thousands of clients, some of them not as tech savvy or not as familiar with SSS services, the daily numbered appointment system to SSS service stalls could hardly keep up that front desk workers who wish they could dish out more service are forced to rush it for the next fellow on queue.
The innovative SSS on Wheels as an additional service point hardly dents the surface of the agency’s service delivery as the field office uses the same vehicle for other official trips.
“We go to the communities to offer our services so they do not have to wake up early to come to the ofcie to queue for services,” Navarro details the SSS on Wheels program.
Still egging to reach out to private sector workers in the non-formal industries, getting workers to voluntarily enroll as members and subjecting then to hassles would not fare well for SSS, so easing out this problem is already a big help.
Along with SSS Cebu Cluster head Eric Coronado, we checked possible areas where we can put up more service offices to add to Tagbilaran and Talibon Service offices, the purpose was to look for where we can establish additional offices, in partnership with local government units, Solibaga shared.
The recent SSS initiative puts Jagna, Panglao and Trinidad as potential areas where the SSS can cover as much catchment service areas, according to the SSS officials.
In the previous years, LGU Tubigon has also agreed to provide the SSS with an office space and a complement of casual workers who can administratively support the SSS personnel in the municipal operations. (PIABohol)
STRETEGIC SERVICE HUBS. Apart from their SSS on Wheels, the SSS in Bohol is planning, in collaboration with LGUS to open up two more service offices in strategic locations in Bohol, to get to as much Boholano worker in the private sector, who wish to get pension and other benefits for their social security, says Sherwin Solibaga, senior communications analyst.
