TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA)—The finest Boholano craftsmanship and Filipino innovation are now showcased at the Sandugo OTOP Trade Expo 2025 at the Island City Mall in Tagbilaran City.
As part of the month-long Sandugo Festival celebration, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) officially launched the Sandugo One Town, One Product (OTOP) Trade Expo on July 15 which will run until July 20.
Featuring 140 exhibitors from Bohol and neighboring provinces, the expo is a platform for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase their products and innovations – from delicacies and handicrafts to wearables, home décor, and wellness items.
In her message, DTI Region 7 Acting Regional Director Esperanza Melgar emphasized that the annual gathering is more than just a trade fair.
“This annual gathering held in conjunction with Bohol’s vibrant Sandugo Festival is more than just a trade fair. It is a celebration of Filipino creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship,” Melgar said.
Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado, in his message of support, underscored the provincial government’s commitment to empowering local entrepreneurs.
“The provincial government underscores the importance of responding to the needs of our MSMEs to contribute to the growth of our province,” the governor noted.
He added that as Bohol continues to pursue its vision of becoming a smart, resilient, and inclusive province, it must also ensure that economic opportunities are anchored in sustainable development and people-centered initiatives.
“We must unlock the potential that lies ahead,” Aumentado said.
Beyond showcasing products, the event is a venue for business matching, mentorship, design development, and brand storytelling.
MSMEs participating in the expo benefit from the exposure, feedback, and market validation that can guide them toward better branding, packaging, pricing, and innovation.
It also strengthens local supply chains by encouraging inter-provincial partnerships and knowledge exchange among exhibitors. (ECB/PIA7-Bohol)
