PPOC approves P215M for
programs, projs, activities
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, (PIA)— The Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) approved en masse the P215,155,000.00 budget that comprises the programs activities and projects of the council for calendar year 2026.
During the recent joint meeting of the PPOC and the Provincial Anti Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) at the Capitol, the Department of Interior and Local Government Provincial Director John Joan Mende presented the proposed budget to the joint council for approval, as the joint council only has one meeting before the year ends.
Taking the biggest chunk of the proposed budget is the P90,000.000.00 programmed Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) which form the bulk of social services assistance that the provincial government gives to constituents in dire situations.
Following AICS is the P22,650,000.00 counterpart funding for Peace and Order operations including local training and expenses, office supplies, fuel, oil and lubricants.
Bohol Outreach program and its Caravans also get P17,365,00.00 for drugs and medicines, travelling expenses, medical and dental laboratory supplies.
The PPOC secretariat also put in a separate budget for AICS in burial and medical assistance amounting to P12,700,000.00.
For its support funds for LGU Road Development projects which has become a critical move that opens access to geographically isolated and depressed areas, the PPOC allots P12,000,000.00.
For various LGU infrastructure projects and activities, the PPOC has P10,000,000, which allows the council to get to the communities in its social infrastructure development initiatives.
Another P10,000,000.00 is earmarked as counterpart funds for Non Government Organizations, National Government Agencies and Official Development Funds.
To enhance skills and develop capacities of barangay officials who do not have ample budget for these activities, Bohol has put up P6,380,000.00.
For coordination and linkages with Municipal and Barangay stakeholders, the PPOC allocates P5,700,000.00.
The council also proposed some P4,000,000.00 as support funds for LGU Electrification programs and some P3,200,000.00 for support funds for LGU waterworks Programs.
The council has also allocated P2,480,000.00 doe the Provincial Government and Civil Society Organizations collaboration programs.
For the Balik Bohol International Medical Mission, Bohol has also appropriated P2,000,000.00.
Some P1,500,000.00 is also earmarked for support to Task Forces, Councils and Boards.
The PPOC has also appropriated some P810,000.00 as the council’s counterpart to the Department of Interior and Local Government’s Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives and Awards as well as The Outstanding Boholano Officials of the Year Award.
And as aid to the PPOC and the Regional peace and Order Council, it has put in P450,000.00. (PIABohol)
