Bohol PPO wins Best Provincial 

Award at PNP Day 2026

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA) — The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) swept the top awards during the 2026 Philippine National Police Day celebration held at Camp Sergio Osmeña in Cebu City.

Organized by the PNP and evaluated by Police Regional Office 7, the BPPO won the Best Police Provincial Office award, recognizing its strong operational performance, effective leadership, and sustained community-based policing initiatives under Provincial Director Patricio Degay Jr.

The Tagbilaran City Police Station was named Best Component City Police Station, the Loon Municipal Police Station was recognized as Best Municipal Police Station, and the Bohol Provincial Mobile Force Company received the award for Best Provincial Mobile Force Company.

Individual officers were also honored: Police Master Sgt. Joel Orapa as Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Operations and Police Staff Sgt. Luwen Refulle as Best Junior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Operations.

Tagbilaran City Chief of Police Lt. Col. John Kareen Escober said the recognition strengthens their commitment to continue delivering honest, responsive, and people-oriented policing.

“We are proud of the Tagbilaran City Police Station for this well-deserved recognition. Peace and order are the foundations of progress. This award reflects what we can achieve when the local government and our police force work together with professionalism, transparency, and accountability,” Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap said.

She added that the city government will continue to provide the necessary support, resources, and policy direction to strengthen law enforcement efforts and ensure the safety of Tagbilaran residents.

The province of Bohol was also recognized as the Outstanding Local Government Unit, while the Municipality of Ubay was honored as the Outstanding Municipality. (ECB/PIA7-Bohol)
