SSS Bohol to open service
offices in Talibon, Jagna
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA)— From opening new service offices, to accrediting partner collection agents in cooperatives to facilitate payment of contributions, Social Security System (SSS) intends to implement more proactive programs to spread-wide its membership base and bring its services to its members in dire need.
In the hope of decongesting the daily horde of clients packed branch in the lounges of its service office in Tagbilaran, SSS Bohol is opening a service office in Tubigon and Jagna, among the planned ten service offices to be opened in the near future, while the SSS also plans to open foreign offices in Madrid, Spain; San Francisco, USA and Macau in China, according to SSS-7 Communications Analyst Sherwin Dan Solibaga.
In fact, SSS Bohol Branch Acting Head Dioscoro Madanguit at the Kapihan sa PIA recently revealed that “Bohol is lucky because the SSS management has positively responded to the plan to open service offices in Tubigon and Jagna.”
As to our proposal to open a service office in Tubigon has been approved by the head of the Branch Operation Sector, Madanguit added.
Coordination with the LGU has been most successful, SSS official said, noting that all they are waiting is for the renovation of the office space to be completed before moving in a new extension office service team.
The LGU was so kind during the negotiations that they immediately gave us the space, possibly seeing how the SSS can help them complete their official service mandates.
The same plan is also already hatching in Jagna, where in those arrangements, the SSS provides two personnel while the LGU puts in a counterpart of another two LGU paid personnel to help run the extension service operations.
If you come to think of it, if those clients transacting in Tagbilaran would still come from Mabini, Alicia, they would be too far, travel time would be too long, that an office in Jagna appears strategic, Madangut pointed out.
As to the SSS, Talibon extension office is already existing, and this week, SSS Tagbilaran would getting complimentary personnel to help run the office.
SSS said the move could deprive them of key personnel but they see it as a method of serving the clients before they could reach the city and lose precious time.
Another office used to be operating in Ubay, but this was discontinued with the COVID disrupting operations, SSS shared.
Moreover, SSS said that in 2025, they have accredited 25 cooperatives in Central Visayas as authorized contribution collection partner.
In Bohol, we accredited Talibon Credit Cooperative (TALCRECO), Solibaga said adding that these coops are now authorized to accept contribution payments.
Concerns of voluntary contributing and self-employed members is the hassle in physically getting to the SSS service office to pay for contributions and while the office continues to urge members who have stopped paying contributions to be back, providing them with an easy access to the service is the least the SSS can do.
Aside from collecting contribution payments, these cooperatives can assist members in navigating our online platforms like filing for a salary loan, SSS added. (PIAbohol)
EASIER ACCESS. SSS Bohol revealed that within the year, they hope they could operationalize extension service offices in two of Bohol towns, in the hope of decongesting the clients in the Branch Office and helping members cut transport costs. (PIABohol)
