CFIDP hospitalization benefits
in province-run hospitals soon
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA)—In no time at all, Boholano coconut farmers who are registered in the National Coconut Farmers Registry System (NCFRS) can be afforded free medical benefits if they opt to be confined of visits any of the 10 provincial government-operated public hospitals.
Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) Provincial Manager Jovencio Felisilda revealed this during the recent Kapihan sa PIA, the same day the PCA signed a Memorandum of Agreement for hospitalization assistance to coconut farmers and the immediate beneficiaries who happen to be confined at the Holy Name University Hospital.
According to manager Felisilda, through the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Program (CFIDP), the hospitalization assistance becomes open to eligible coconut farmers at P40,000 worth of hospitalization assistance per quarter and some P5K for out-patient consultation and post admission assistance fund under the PCA CFIDP’s social protection component.
Working in tandem with Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, the PCA said the MOA entails a guarantee letter system from PCA as payment for the hospital.
In Bohol, Felisilda said the Sangguniang Panlalawigan has authorized governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado to sign the MOA for the hospitalization services to be extended to coconut farmer patients confined or getting their consultations at the province-run hospitals.
In Bohol, PCA hospitalization assistance is also available for those confined at the ACE hospital, Gov Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital and recently, at the HNU.
Felisilda said hospitalization assistance forms part of the health and medical program, which also includes free mobile health services prioritized to resident members of the geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.
In the mobile health services, PCA targets 250 member patients who could be served in their medical, dental and ophthalmology services.
For the medical services, member patients can avail of free blood chemistry tests, vital signs, urinalysis, laboratory services, plus reading of laboratory results.
For dental services, oral examination, tooth extraction, filling, cleaning, dentures and general tooth care, while ophthalmology services include eye exams, diagnosis, and treatment of eye diseases, vision correction and free reading glasses.
Moreover, for the mobile service patients, a month-long supply of free medicines are also given, according to Felisilda.
Still continuing with their mobile services in Bohol, PCA said priority for the offered services are members who have registered in the coconut farmers registry.
To register as a PCA coconut farmer through the NCFRS to access these benefits, one must be owners, tenants, and laborers, accomplish the form which can be downloaded from the PCA website, and then submit these to the nearest local PCA offices.
With the completely filled out registration form, should be a valid ID, proof of Land Ownership or Tenancy which may include land titles, tax declarations, or Certificate of Coconut Landholding. (PIAbohol)
