TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA) — The provincial government of Bohol received two patient transport vehicles (PTVs) from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) during a ceremonial turnover event held in Cebu City recently.
The donation is part of the PCSO Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program (MTVDP), which aims to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve access to timely and reliable medical transportation.
Bohol is among the 10 provincial recipients of the program, together with Cebu, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Samar, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.
PCSO General Manager Melquiades A. Robles and Board Chairman Judge Felix Reyes (Ret.) led the turnover event, with governors and representatives from the recipient local government units in attendance.
Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado personally received the two PTVs and expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the PCSO for the continued support of the province’s healthcare initiatives.
“Ang atong nadawat nga mga PTVs dako nga tabang pagpalig-on sa kapasidad sa Kagamhanang Probinsyal pagpadangat sa inklusibo nga serbisyong medikal, pinaagi sa luwas ug paspas nga transportasyon alang sa mga Bol-anon nga nanginahanglan sa healthcare assistance,” Aumentado said in a Facebook post.
(The PTVs we received are a great help in strengthening the provincial government’s capability to deliver inclusive medical services through safe and fast transportation for Filipinos in need of healthcare assistance.)
The turnover forms part of PCSO’s continuing commitment to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve access to medical services, particularly in remote and underserved communities.
The initiative is aligned with the President’s vision to bring accessible and responsive healthcare services closer to communities and ensure that more Filipinos have access to essential medical assistance, especially in the regions. (ECB/PIA-7 Bohol)
