P37 to P47 daily wage hike
P500 minimum wage for
Private workers in Bohol

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA)— Starting October 4, about 337,476 minimum wage earners in Region 7 would start benefitting directly or indirectly the P37.00 to P47.00 daily wage increase and P1,000 to P2,000 for kasambahays here.

At that, Boholano daily wage earners working in Tagbilaran City who used to get P463.00 can receive an additional P37.00 for a new P500 daily wage rate.

Meanwhile, those workers outside Tagbilaran City who had P453.00 pursuant to Wage Order No. 26 issued last year gets an additional P47.00 to catch up with the Class B workers, for a uniformed P500 minimum daily wage.

This then makes uniform P500 minimum wage rate in all areas in Bohol as the Regional Tripartite Wage Productivity Board (RTWPB) simplified the wage structure.

It may be recalled that the RTWPB approved on September 11, 2025 the said wage increase following provisions of the Omnibus Rules on Minimum Wage Fixing which dictates that a copy of the age order be transmitted to the National Wages and Productivity Commission for affirmation.

For the kasambahays, or domestic helpers, the board’s wage hearings allowed the surfacing of the existing socio-economic conditions as pervading sentiment, and in the manner of simplifying the wage structure, ruled that for those earning P5,000 monthly wages, an additional P2,000 is in order, making the new kasambahay wage rate at P7,000.

For those already earning P6,000, a P1,000 wage increase is mandated for the uniform wage structure of P7,000.00.

For the increase, the Board also considered the needs of domestic workers and their families as well as their employer’s capacity to pay, according to Atty. Jess Russell Jumalon. The wage order was published last September 18 and after 15 days of publication, takes its effect this October 4. (PIAbohol)
