Calape youth launches
Eco Bo-Bote Project
TAGBILARAN CITY, February 26 (PIA)--The Sangguniang Kabataan Pambayang Pederasyon ng Calape launched its project dubbed as “Eco Bo-Bote ng Calape” on February 15, 2019 mainly to gather trash made of plastic wastes in the municipality.
SK Municipal Federation President, John Ted Labajo said this project is aimed at mitigating plastics in Calape town, segregating of plastics inside plastic bottles, and empowering the community to participate in clean and green revolution.
Under the Eco Bo-Bote scheme, a kilo of rice is paid to every three (3) liters of plastic wastes placed inside plastic bottles.
Labajo said the project is particularly aimed at tapping non-working mothers to participate as a mode of additional source of livelihood.
Calape Mayor Nelson Yu, has personally indorsed this project which will be provided with corresponding budget every year.
According to the youth chairman, an appropriation of ₱ 100,000 inserted in the municipality’s Solid Waste budget has been earmarked to support the project.
All the thirty three (33) Barangay SK Chairmen serve as coordinators of the project in their respective jurisdiction.
To further broaden the capability of the movement, the SK Federation is willing to accept volunteers or private stakeholders.
The project has for its themes – #PlasticFreeCalape, #EcoBo-BotengCalapeProject2K19 and #WarOnWasteCalape. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol w/ reports from Nick Sendrijas)
