CORTES, Bohol, Oct 12 (PIA)—If winning in the upcoming midterm elections is no issue for at least some ten municipal candidates, it would be gruesome for at least another thirty municipal slates with a single contest, in the top two seats.

Form the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in Bohol under election supervisor Atty Eliseo Labaria, the following are where the real thill could happen.

In the polls, eyes in Bohol are riveted in Tagbilaran City, as incumbent seat of the city mayor Jane Censoria Cajes-Yap (Partido Federal ng Pilipinas-PFP) would be contested by councilor Malvin Misael Torralba (People’s Reform party-PRP), son of former city mayor Jose Torralba.

Yap may have the upper hand, but Torralba, who could rune with Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado trump card pressed close to his heart, Torralba also comes in with the influence of former city vice mayor Jose Antonio Veloso (National Unity Party-NUP), a bother in law of influential Congressman Edgar Chatto.

Yap maintains his vice mayor Adam Relson Jala (Nacionalista Party-NP) fighting for the second top city seat.

FIRST DISTRICT

In the first District, the vice mayoralty seat of Alburquerque is where the fight is expected to be tough.

Incumbent vice mayor Dagohoy Samar (PFP) meets NUP candidate in Jose Dompol.

Three candidates vie for the mayoralty seat here.

Also in Antequera, incumbent mayor Jose Mario Pahang (NP) gets a popularity check with former mayor Lilioso Nunag (NUP), while three candidates vie for their vice mayoralty seats: Cecil Rebosura (NP), Austin Nicole Canini (PFP) and former mayor Samuel Rebosura (INDEPENDENT-Ind).

For Baclayon, the fight would be tougher for both top seats with at least a strong contender considering for the grab.

Incumbent Mayor Alvin Uy (PFP) is getting an opponent in councilor Derwin Cuajao (NUP), while the vice mayoralty seat, incumbent vice mayor Jhodel Theodore Cabahug (NUP), while Cuajao is paired interestingly with another NUP and former mayor Benecio Uy.

In the bulwark of the Chatto family in Balilihan, former vice mayor Ester Patrisha Chatto (NUP) pairs with Lorenzo Baliong Jr,. (NUP) while Adonis Roy Olalo (PFP) would work with Czarina Torregosa Asunto (PFP) in a rebid to topple the Chatto dominance here.

Another sizzling fight is expected in Calape, with incumbent mayor and fomer vice governor Julius Ceasar Herrera (PFP) gets an opposoition from former mayor Jose Junie Yu (NUP).

Herrera pairs with Roldan Damalerio, while Yu pairs with Joyce Josol (NUP).

In Catigbian, the former National youth Commissioner Benjie Oliva (PFP), and Esteban Angilan pair meets with Jesus Jaum Jr., Jesus Jaum, Jr (ABAG PROMDI) and Joseph Digaum (ABAG PROMDI), while former vice mayor Fortunato Concon (IND) gets in the vice mayoralty trey.

In Corella, while incumbent mayor Juan Manuel Lim (PFP) is assured of the top seat, the fight descends with his partner Danilo Bandala (PFP) getting a check by Judylinda Sarmiento (IND).

It is a expected to be tooth and nails fight in Cortes with former councilor Lois Irah Lim (NP), daughter of incumbent mayor Lyyn Iven Lim, with Alan Pondoc (NP) from vote rich Barangay Delapaz against incumbent Vice mayor Rodrigo Uy (PFP) and councilor Niño Lumanas (PFP) for the legislative seat.

In Dauis, former mayor Miriam Sumaylo (PFP) pairs with councilor Luciano Bongalos (PFP) to retake the top seat now held by incumbent Roman Bullen (NUP) and Nikki Delgado (NUP).

For Loon, the fight is set with former mayor and retired health officer Cesar Tomas Lopez (NUP) pairing with Pedro Leteratos (NUP), against Leizl Go (PFP) and Rose Lacierda (PFP). Another opposition making the vice mayoralty fight worth it is from Jocelyn Nazareno (Ind).

The fight for the vice mayor seat in Mariobojoc is where the thrill is with incumbent vice mayor Emilio Castilla Jr,. (PFP) getting a check from Arnie Turco (NUP).

Maribojoc has five mayoralty aspirants.

It is an altogether rumble for Panglao which has at least 5 running to claim the top seat and three for the town legislative seat with Daisy Delambaca (NUP), Theodore Doyet Dumaluan (Promdi) and Dennis Hora (LP).

For Tubigon, it would be a close fight in the top seats with incumbent vice mayor Rene Villaber (NUP) and councilor Delia Lasco (NUP) haggling for votes against Marlon Amila (PFP) and Lord Ronald Vaño (PFP).

SECOND DISTRICT

The thrilling fight in Bien Unido shifts in the Vice Mayors seat with Leonardo Querubin Jr – LDP against Veer Angelo Garcia (Lakas).

Bien Unido has three mayoralty aspirants.

In Buenavista, incumbent mayor Dave Duallo (Lakas) has Ramil Melencion (Ind) trying to pull him out and incumbent vice mayor Elsa Tirol (Lakas) gets a check by Anatalio Pacaldo Jr (Ind).

It is arepeat fight for Dagohoy, with incumbent mayor Germinio Relampagos (NUP) meeting former mayor Sofronio Apat (Lakas) again.

Incumbent vice mayor Roel Lagroma (NPC) also faces Vicente Lanoy Jr (Lakas).

The fight also shifts to the vice seat in Danao with incumbent mayor Jose Cepedoza (Lakas) has Rey Bantilan checking in.

The town has an uncontested mayoralty seat.

In the Jumamoy country in Inabanga, three mayoralty aspirants and four vice mayoralty aspirants present another heated scenario.

It would be a run-away victory for the uncontested vice mayoralty seat in Carlos P. Garcia with Wilma Dusal, while Kenneth Estavilla would get a haggle with Audie Solon (IND).

In San Miguel, incumbent mayor Ian Gil Mendez (PDP) pairs with former mayor Claudio Bonior (NPC) against incumbent vice mayor Faustino Bulaga (LAKAS-CMD) and June Reign Reyes (LAKAS-CMD).

Talibon has a virtual winner in the vice mayor seat with Dave Evangelista (LAKAS-CMD), while incumbent mayor Janeth Garcia (LAKAS-CMD) has an opposition in councilor JP Flores (PRP).

For Trinidad, incumbent mayor and former congressman Roberto Cajes (LDP) pairs with daughter and councilor Joan Robie Imboy (NPC), against incumbent vice mayor Fernando Erio and Deuel Puracan pair.

In vote-rich Ubay, while the mayoralty set is getting at least 6 contenders, the heat is in the vice mayoralty seat with former mayor Constantino Reyes (Lakas CMD) and Maximo Boyles (Reporma-PH)

THIRD DISTRICT

In Alicia, while four aspirants would be battling it out in the mayoralty seat, the vice mayors seat even gets trickier with Ruel Carias (Lakas), Bryan Bulabos (NPC), Jasmine Molina (PDP Laban), Rolando Ayuban (PRP) and Danilo Huiso (Ind) on to a ‘trip to Jerusalem’ for a single seat.

Fight is also expected to be tough in Anda for incumbent mayor Angelina Simacio (Lakas) pitting against former mayor Metodio Amper (NPC) in another episode for the past campaign.

For the vice seat, Rubena Porter (Lakas) meets Ferdinand Berogoy (NPC)

In Batuan, it’s a switch between former vice mayor Zeniza Bulalaque (Lakas) for mayor and former mayor Antonino Jumawid (Lakas) against Emmanuel Tumanda (PFP) and Julito Pancho (PFP) pair.

The tandem of Norman Palacio (Lakas) and Ranulfo Maligmat (Lakas) meets Celso Dalagan (NPC) and Marino Omac (NPC) in Bilar town.

While Candijay has a sure mayor, the fight descends in the vice seat incumbent vice mayor Christopher Tutor (NP) pitting against Edward Besania (IND).

For Dimiao, incumbent mayor Randolph Ang (Lakas) is getting a dare by Catherine Guivencan (IND) while the vice seat has got contenders in Noel Hamlag (Lakas) and Robert Taguisa (IND).

It would be another fight in Duero with incumbent mayor Al Taculad (Lakas) getting a challenge in Emma Fe Bajade (NPC)

In the vice seat, Hernes Bajao (Lakas) has Jeffrey Torralba (NPC) as contender.

Dimiao’s incumbent mayor Jess Baja (Lakas) meets former board member Jade Bautista Acapulco (NPC) as the vice mayor’s seat has Antonia Ladaga (Lakas) and Mary Rose Edubas (NPC) contesting.

Guindulman has a sure vice mayor in Jimmy Busano (Lakas) while the incumbent’s seat has got two more eyeing to take over.

It’s a one-on one fight in Jagna with Teofisto Pagar Jr. (Lakas) against Mark Louie Monungolh (NPC) and the vice mayoralty seat in Wilvinz Vinalon (Lakas) against Derrick Virtudazo (NPC)

Lila has got no opposition in the top seats.

Loay has no contest in the mayor’s seat but the thrill is in the legislative with incumbent vice mayor Tiburcio Bullecer, Jr. (Lakas) getting Gabriel Espiritu (IND) contending.

Another one on one fight happens in Loboc with incumbent mayor Raymond Jala (Lakas) and former mayor Helen Alaba tandem against Erwin Bacquial (NPC) and Leo Bagiuo, Jr. (NPC).

Sizzling, is what people expect in Mabini with incumbent mayor Ongie Grace Bernales Lim (Lakas) against former mayor Juanito Jayoma, while the vice mayor’s seat has Myra Fostanes- Colis (Lakas) and Helen Natan.

Pilar has incumbent mayor Wilson Pajo (Lakas) and Wilfredo Bernante (Lakas) pitted against Francisco Auguis (NP) and Zenaido Jaspe (NP)

Sevilla has a no contest in the mayor’s seat while the vice mayor’s post has former mayor Juliet Dano (PFP) and Gabino Gumapac (IND) battling.

Three candidates slug it out for the mayor’s seat in Sierra Bullones, but the vice seat is a duel between Jose Fredo Buslon (NP) and Alfredo Gamalo (Lakas).

In Valencia, incumbent mayor Dionisio Neil Balite (Lakas) and incumbent vice mayor Aristoitle Cometa (Lakas) gets checked with Ma. Katrina Lim (NPC) and Mhie Flor Palaca (NPC).
