Ten mayoralty seats
remain uncontested

PANGLAO, Bohol, Oct 11 (PIA)—Ten Bohol mayoralty slots remained uncontested, at the close of the day for the filing of Certificates of Candidacies (COC), October 8, according to Bohol Election supervisor Atty. Eliseo Labaria.

Unchallenged, these candidates would only need technically a single vote to be proclaimed as virtual winners when the local polls open on May 10, 2025.

These towns with their mayoralty candidates include: for the first district: Corella with Juan Manuel “Manju” Lim (Partido Federal ng Pilipinas-PFP)and Sikatuna with Justiniana “Janet” Ellorimo (Nationalist Union of the Philippines-NUP).

In the second district, running unopposed are Clarin with Eugenio “Eugene” Ibarra (Lakas Christian Muslim Democrats-Lakas), Getafe with Cary “Carryboy” Camacho, Sagbayan with Restituto “Jun” Suarez Jr, (Lakas).

For the third district, Candijay Tamar Olaivar (Liberal Democratic Party-LDP), Carmen with Conchita “Che” Toribio (Lakas), Lila with Arturo “Jed” Piollo (Nationalista Party –NP), Loay with Hilario “Lahar” Ayuban (Lakas), and a neophyte politician for Sevilla Engr Emmanuel “Junin” Caberte (PFP).

Meanwhile, at the close of the day during the filing of COCs, the town of Panglao owns up the most number of mayoralty aspirants with six.

These include incumbent Edgardo “Boy” Arcay (NUP), Alexis Ting (Independent (Ind), Noel Hormachuelos (PFP), Briccio Velasco (People’s Reform Party-PRP), Leonila “NIla” Montero (Liberal Party -LP) and Aaron Beltran (Ind).

Ubay, Maribojoc and Alicia mayoralty seats also have three contenders on file.

In the first District, Maribojoc has incumbent Romulo “Romy” Manuta (PDP), Jojo Roxas (NUP), Jose Arocha (Ind), and Lourdes Concepcion Endo (IND).

In the second District, Ubay, Bohol’s second most populous town after Tagbilaran City, has Marita Enojales (Ind), Arnold Bacolod (Ind), Eutiquio Boyles (Partido Demokratiko nga Pilipinas –PDP), and Violeta “Violy” Reyes.

In the Third District, Alicia is with incumbent Victoriano “DongT” Torres (PDP Laban), Marciano Ayuban (Lakas Christian Muslim Democrats), vice mayor Cecille Balahay (NPC) and retired police general Chito Bersaluna (PRP).

The upcoming mid-term elections would have Bohol towns with at least three contenders.

These include Alburquerque with incumbent Don Ritchie Buates (NUP), Michael Mantiza (PFP), and Elias Jipos (Ind) for Bohol’s first district.

For the second District, Bien Unido has incumbent Rene Borenaga (LDP), Joselyn Villarias (Liberal Party), and John Felix Garcia (Lakas) as well as Inabanga with incumbent Jose Jono Jumamoy (NUP), Dexter Angcla (Lakas) and Allan Jumamoy (Ind).

In the third district, Guindulman and Sierra Bullones have three candidate aspirants for the seat.

In Guindulman, these include incumbent Albino “Ben” Balo, Sinforiano Lavastida (PROMDI) and Lilian Lloren (Ind), while Sierra Bullones town has incumbent Michael Doria (Nacionalista), Simplicio “Dodie” Maestrado (lakas) and Ireneo Perocho (Ind).

ONE GETAFE. One of the Bohol towns with an uncontested mayoralty seat, Getafe’s candidate: Cariso “Carieboy” Camacho along with nine other town candidates are virtual winners already. With the slate are BM Tomas abapo, Congresswoman Vanessa Aumentado, GOv Erico Aris Aumentado, Vice governor candidate Nicanor Besas, BM Jiselle Rae Villamor, Sangguniang Panlalawigan representatives for the Second District.
