TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA) — The province of Bohol and 33 municipalities received a “High Functional” rating in the 2025 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Audit.

The number is higher than in 2024, when 23 LGUs achieved the same rating.

The ADAC Performance Audit evaluates how effectively local Anti-Drug Abuse Councils implement programs, carry out initiatives, and comply with national policies on illegal drug prevention and control.

The assessment also identifies operational strengths and areas that need improvement.

The municipalities that received a “High Functional” rating are Alburquerque, Alicia, Anda, Bilar, Buenavista, Candijay, Catigbian, Clarin, Corella, Cortes, Danao, Dimiao, Duero, Garcia Hernandez, Guindulman, Inabanga, Getafe, Lila, Loay, Loboc, Mabini, Maribojoc, Pilar, President Carlos P. Garcia, Sagbayan, San Isidro, San Miguel, Sevilla, Sierra Bullones, Sikatuna, Talibon, Trinidad, and Ubay.

In a statement, the provincial government said this milestone underscores the province’s commitment to safe, resilient communities while aligned with its Strategic Governance Roadmap for a sustainable Bohol, as the country’s first and only UNESCO Global Geopark.

This achievement highlights the effectiveness of local anti-illegal drug initiatives, with annual audits serving as a key tool to ensure that programs, policies, and interventions are properly implemented at the grassroots level.

Through the audits, councils are encouraged to innovate and share successful practices, contributing to the effectiveness of anti-drug initiatives.

The audit is conducted annually to monitor local councils’ functionality and ensure anti-drug initiatives are implemented at the community level. (ECB/PIA7-Bohol)
