TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA) — The Provincial Government of Bohol has secured P196 million in financial assistance under the Fiscal Year 2026 Local Government Support Fund–Financial Assistance (LGSF-FA) Bagong Pilipinas Rice Program approved by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

“Kita nalipay nga nakadawat ang Provincial Government of Bohol og P196 milyon nga pondo gikan sa national government alang sa Bagong Pilipinas Rice Program,” Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado said in a Facebook post.

(We are happy that the Provincial Government of Bohol received P196 million in funding from the national government for the Bagong Pilipinas Rice Program.)

“Kini kwarta sa katawhan nga gitugyan kanato, mao nga maningkamot kita nga magamit kining maong pondo alang sa pagpalambo sa atong probinsya ug sa pagprovide og dugang ug barato nga suplay sa pagkaon diri sa Bohol,” he added.

(This is the people’s money entrusted to us, so we will strive to use this fund for the development of our province and to provide an additional and affordable food supply here in Bohol.)

The funding, which will be downloaded directly to the province through digital transfer, aims to accelerate priority rice development initiatives.

The assistance is expected to strengthen local rice production, enhance farmer support programs, improve agricultural infrastructure, and reinforce food security across Bohol.

It also highlights continued collaboration between national and local governments, and supports the province’s push to prioritize agriculture as a key driver of economic growth and rural development, aligned with Bohol’s Strategic Governance Roadmap.

President Marcos expanded the LGSF to expand support for priority programs, including additional rice assistance, health facility upgrades, disaster preparedness initiatives, and improvements to critical infrastructure such as energy and water supply systems.

Speaking during the launch of the “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Bawat Bayan Makikinabang” initiative at Malacañan Palace on Monday, the President reaffirmed his commitment to ensure public funds are spent on programs that directly benefit Filipinos. (ECB/PIA7-Bohol)
