TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA) — The Provincial Government of Bohol, together with Tagbilaran City and all 47 municipalities in the province, achieved a 100% passing rate in the Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) Assessment for Calendar Year (CY) 2025.

This means they have met the financial management and transparency standards of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

On June 16, the DILG released the list of local government units (LGUs) that passed the GFH Assessment as of March 9, recognizing their commitment to accountability, transparency, and sound fiscal management.

Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado, who was in Canada with other governors for a Governance for Climate and Disaster Resilience activity, welcomed the recognition in a Facebook post.

“Kini nga kalampusan maoy pamatuod sa atong lig-on nga paningkamot sa pagpalambo sa matinud-anon, transparent, ug responsable nga pagdumala sa gobyerno. Pinaagi sa tukmang pagsunod sa Full Disclosure Policy ug sa mga rekisitos sa Commission on Audit, atong napakita nga seryoso kita sa maayong pagdumala ug sa hustong paggamit sa pondo sa katawhan,” Aumentado said.

(This achievement is proof of our strong effort to promote honest, transparent, and accountable governance. By strictly following the Full Disclosure Policy and the requirements of the Commission on Audit, we have shown that we are serious about good governance and the proper use of public funds.)

“Pamatuod usab kini nga ang tanang sektor sa lokal nga pangagamhanan sa Bohol nagtinabangay aron mapadayon ang pagsalig sa katawhan ug mapalig-on ang pundasyon sa atong kalamboan,” he added.

(This is also proof that all sectors of Bohol’s local government are working together to maintain public trust and strengthen the foundation of our development.)

Aumentado thanked Bohol’s local leaders, council members, and government officials, and called on them to continue serving with integrity and responsibility.

“Magpadayon kita sa pagserbisyo nga adunay integridad ug responsibilidad. Magkahiusa kita sa pag-abante alang sa mas lig-on, mas mauswagon, ug mas maayong Bohol (Let us continue to serve with integrity and responsibility. Let us unite in moving forward for a stronger, more prosperous, and better Bohol),” Aumentado said.

The GFH is a DILG recognition mechanism that evaluates LGUs based on compliance with financial management and transparency requirements.

It serves as an indicator of responsible fiscal administration and adherence to existing laws, rules, and regulations.

To qualify, an LGU must obtain an Unmodified or Qualified Audit Opinion from the Commission on Audit and comply with the Full Disclosure Policy, ensuring timely and complete posting of financial documents. (ECB/PIA-7 Bohol)
